We are excited to announce the start of our second season as a club level Cross Country team in fall, 2009. The goal of the Cross Country program is to compete in several meets in the area this season with the possibility of becoming a full fledged intercollegiate sport in 2010. There is a preliminary schedule in place with competition against two-year and four year institutions at various division levels.

Harford’s Cross Country team will be coached by Scott Walton, who is a part-time professor at Harford where he instructs evening courses in the Business Administration Department. He is committed to the team’s academic and athletic success. Previously, his coaching started locally at Bryn Mawr High School in 2004 as the Cross-Country, Indoor Track and Track & Field assistant coach. Walton lead this diverse and talented team to a top ten state ranking in Outdoor Track during the 05-06 season, while graduating athletes to Princeton, Cornell, Davidson and Johns Hopkins University. In 2006 he moved along to a head coach position at Roland Park Country School. During his time at RPCS he has seen success in all three cross-country seasons as this team has earned top five honors in the IAAM league all three season.

Before you participate, you need to obtain a physical dated after July 1, 2009. Harford athletes can get their physicals at the Susquehanna Center gymnasium, dates to be announced.

In order to participate in club-level sports, you must be registered for a minimum of six CREDIT hours during the season of participation.
