Three Fighting Owls Earn All-American Honors

All three are freshmen as Harford looks to be primed for 2018

Bel Air, Md. - The Fighting Owls women's lacrosse team earned three NJCAA All-Americans for the 2017 season as attacker Courtney Poole, midfielder Nina Urban, and goalkeeper Erica Wright were honored with the prestigious awards.

Of the 16 student-athletes that earned All-American status for women's lacrosse this season, only five of them were freshmen with Harford accounting for three of those five as the Fighting Owls look to be in great shape for the 2018 season.

Poole finished the season with 45 goals; good for the fifth most in the NJCAA in 2017. She also added 11 assists and was third in the nation with 81 shots.

Urban completed the 2017 year just behind her teammate in sixth place at 43 goals in addition to eight assists and 32 draw controls.

Wright was the only goalkeeper to make the All-American team as she was second in the country with 127 saves and fourth in goals allowed average at 9.71 while starting all 14 games between the pipes.

Head coach Nikki Murphy: "I am so proud of Courtney, Erica and Nina for making the All-American team this year. It's a true honor and privilege to be among the few selected across the league. To have these three ladies selected speaks to their incredible impact on our team. They gave everything they had in each practice and game while holding the team to a high standard. I appreciated their efforts and am glad to see their hard work recognized in this manner."
