Cross Country finishes stong at Regional XX finals

Coach Scott Walton and the Fighting Owls Cross Country team traveled to Hagerstown Community College this past weekend to compete in the Region XX, Division I and III Cross Country Championships. After a successful season for the Owls, the Championships would prove to be a culmination of all their hard work, as the two runners for Harford both placed in the top 20 in their division.

Freshman, Julia Belsan (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen), placed in the top of the pack with a time of 22:42, propelling her to a third place finish. Walton was impressed with Belsan's performance and is looking forward to having her back next year. On the men's side, freshman, James Kaufman (Bel Air, Md./ C.Milton Wright) , ran a hard race and placed 18th with a time of 32:56. Walton was also impressed by Kaufman's performance in a race he deemed as, ”very competitive this year."

Walton is also optimistic about the future of the program and says that he predicts a bright future for his returning student-athletes next year.
